   Blu-Ray players play DVDs as well.

   I don’t know if there are any portable HD Players.

   blu ray plays real DVD’s and up converts them to make it look a little better

   No there is not and the Blu-Ray does play DVDs as well as CDs.

   Don’t know if there are HD portable DVD players. But Blu-ray is backwards compatible with regular DVDs.
